Verification
How ILX Connection is tested
Software you trust with a structure has to show its work. Every connection type is checked against the published AISC Design Examples and Design Guides, automatically, on every change.
Passes over 3,200 checks against published AISC design examples; every difference from the published values is explained in the documentation.
ILX Studio, LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by AISC.
The method
Golden tests against published examples
Each worked example from the AISC Design Examples and the AISC Design Guides is entered as a test case. ILX Connection designs it, and every individual check is compared with the published value, within a stated tolerance.
Edition cross-checks
Where a published example or paper uses an earlier edition of the Specification, the effect of moving to AISC 360-22 is worked out and noted, so every difference that comes from the edition is known and intended. The same designs are also run in US and SI units and must agree.
Documented differences
When a published value and ILX Connection differ (a rounding choice, a simplification in the example, or a newer provision), the reason is written down and listed with the results. Nothing is quietly skipped.
Thousands of automated tests
Beyond the published examples, an automated test suite checks unusual inputs, drawings, reports and edge cases. It runs on every change before a release.
